TerraMine Strategy Guide

The optimal decision tree for every stage of TerraMine — from your first mine to $1,000/month portfolios. Backed by community data and the same math powering our calculator.

Answer first: Volume-first for the first 500 mines, upgrade-first after that. Diamond > Gold > Coal > Rock, lowest level always. Boost every hour you can.

Three-phase strategy

PhaseMine countFocus
Volume0 – 500Buy Rock mines. Skip upgrades. Boost daily.
Transition500 – 2,000Buy + upgrade rare mines. Travel for placements.
Optimization2,000+Upgrade Diamond & Gold to level 50+. Farm materials.

The math behind mine prioritization

Every level adds +1% to that mine's base rent. Because Diamond mines pay 4× Rock at level 1, upgrading a Diamond earns 4× more rent per level than upgrading a Rock — for the same TerraBucks cost curve.

Boost economics

The 20× multiplier is the single biggest lever. 24 hours of unboosted rent = ~1.2 hours boosted. See our boost guide for the ad-boost math.

Compounding through referrals

Every referral converts to TerraBucks you can reinvest. See the resource guide.

FAQ

Is TerraMine better for volume or upgrades?

Volume dominates until roughly 500 mines. After that, upgrading rare mines (Diamond, Gold) yields better rent-per-dollar than buying more Rock.

How long to reach $100/month?

With full-time boost, ~1,419 level-1 mines. Upgrading shortens that — each level adds +1% rent.
